PhD Student Yuwei Yan's First Review Paper Published in IJMS

We are thrilled to announce that our PhD student, Yuwei Yan, has published his first review paper titled "Human Brain In Vitro Model for Pathogen Infection-Related Neurodegeneration Study" in International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IJMS).

The review highlights how these in vitro brain models are being utilized to investigate the effects of various pathogens—including viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites—on the human brain and their subsequent impacts on neurodegenerative diseases. The paper emphasizes the advantages of 3D models over traditional 2D cell cultures, particularly in terms of cellular diversity, microenvironment completeness, and morphological structures.

This publication marks a significant milestone in Yuwei Yan's academic journey and showcases the innovative research being conducted in our lab. For more details, please access the full paper here.
